I can't say if he'll do payment plans but I used Glyndon McDaniel (https://brickandbeamdetroit.com/contractors/glyndon-mcdaniel) and he did an EXCELLENT job. I'd highly recommend him. Does a lot of work on older houses.
I had a 107 year old, three story high, steep pitch cedar shingle roof with four layers of asphalt three tab shingles over the cedar which was a very challenging project. I contacted Michael Baker (mobile (313) 673-9972) at Kearns Brothers who took care of the job. They did a full tear off, re-deck and re-shingle job in 2 days. So far 2 years later, no leaks and it looks great.
