Looking for contractor who has worked on historic home windows

Asked by Dennis J. Lynn at 1:31pm on Jun 20 2019

We live in a historic home in downtown Rochester which was built in 1909 and looking for contractor who has repaired windows of homes that are over 100 yrs. old.
Our windows are the original double hung type, several are in need of repair, most need caulking, etc. Would like to have our windows evaluated in an effort to return them to improved operation.
Appreciate the help.

Hey there!
There are a lot of great window resources here:
A few firms to check out:
Sevonty Windows
Building Hugger
Turner Restoration
Phil Mayo
Most are listed on the contractor section of B+BD
We also recommend checking out some of the window resources to prepare for your conversation with the companies you have bid, this can help you know what questions to ask potential contractors about their process! If you go to the resources tab, there are lots of window related resources. Would recommend checking out the tip sheet https://www.brickandbeamdetroit.com/resources/tip-sheet-on-wood-windows
And how to videos https://www.brickandbeamdetroit.com/resources/video-working-with-windows-in-5-parts
