Mid Century Beam is rotting
Does anyone know any people who specialize in fixing mid century house beams that are showing symptoms of internal rotting? The beam in question is both internal and external to my house. I'm in the Detroit area. I want to make sure to solve the problem but also do maintain the integrity of the architectural design.
I've had a couple contractors out and they recommend capping the beam (the damage is only the exterior of the house). I have concerns about how this will look when its done. All out replacement is a massive (and crazy expensive) project, so hoping to avoid that.
